Default Furch/Stonebridge Millennium 20 series

Hi folks,

i'm quite interested in the Furch/Stonebridge's 20 series. Did you ever played one of these cedar/african mahogany guitars? What do you think of them? Are they a lot worse in comparison with the upper series?

Unfortunately i can't play any of them; so i'm investigating a bit on the internet before an eventual order.

Thank you in advance!

Pietro

I played it (D20 six and twelve strings) and I have found the sound amazing. Upper series give you higher appointments, but the sound is quite good even for the lowest series Furch.

Furch make an amazing guitar! Especially at the prices they charge.

I agree with that, my student's OM30SM doesn't sound worse than my OM32SM

Think the Furch lower end series are hands down the best made, best sounding guitars I've played at a comparable price point. I would definitely try to play the individual guitars though. The one I loved and bought would not have been my choice on paper. In particular try to compare the 20/21's at least unless your heart is set on cedar? Good luck!

I had a G23CC (cedar/cocobolo) that was a tremendous guitar, probably the best built guitar that I'll ever own.

But I got away from fingerpicking and sold it. Too bad for me, it was a beauty.

Never played a Furch that did not sound great.

Thank you again!

Therefore the OM 20 cm (maybe) will be my first important guitar.

None of the Furch/Stonebridge series are "worse" than the other. I own a 21 series OM Spruce/Ovankol that is a stellar guitar. Anything from the 20 series and up will amaze you.

I disagree :-)
I have found D-40 amazing. I tried to talk them to make S-40/12, but no luck :-D

You're entitled to your opinion. But dollar for dollar they are still better than a Taylor.

You said above serie 20. I just added that even Furchs below 20 are amazing :-)
40 is quite like 20, just the back is arched laminate without braces, a bit like some old Guilds.
