Default justinguitar.com books?

I know there have been other threads about this, but I couldn't find any that were very recent. I also know there are a lot of Justin fans here, and I have quickly become one of them. I've been thinking about purchasing a couple of his books, both to supplement my education and to throw him a few bucks because I appreciate what he does. I'm specifically looking at his Beginner Songbook and Practical Music Theory eBook. Just wondering if anyone has either of these, and what your thoughts on them are.

I am using justin's lessons and I purchased the beginner song book. Although I REALLY enjoy his online lessons, I wish I just donated $10-$20 instead purchasing the book which ended up costing me $32 with the shipping.
The book is put together well, but it has a lot of songs that I don't know and have no desire to learn. Shame on me for not researching it more.
This isn't a knock on his lessons, I will say again, I think his lessons are great.

Thanks for the reply. Let me ask this: if you were familiar with and wanted to learn most of the songs in the book, do you think it would be worth it? I have perused the song list and it seems like a pretty cool and eclectic mix to me.

I've got two of his songbooks now, and they are fantastic. Well written, and annotated. Loads of material, and from where I sit since I've gained so much information from his "free" site it makes me feel that much better buying some of his products.

+1. I got my wife the beginner songbook for Christmas. I've looked through it, and the songs are arranged, and in many cases simplified, to be appropriate for a beginner and teach the techniques the lessons are focused on. I don't enjoy some of the songs either, but I see the value in them for learning.

Thanks, everyone. Looks like I'll be picking up the song book. Has anyone used the theory book? I'm really curious about that.

I bought several of his books and a DVD last year.
The songbook is a perfect size for fitting in a case if you are into that.
It is 8 X 10 inches and spiral bound.

I ordered The Vintage Song Book and really like it. It progresses from easy to hard. I like almost all the songs and the way he explains a lot of the techniques is really easy to understand. He does so much for free I wanted to contribute by buying one of his products and I'm glad I did. K

I think if you liked the songs and wanted to learn them then yes the book would be great. I do not regret buying it because I wanted to to something as a "payback" for all the lessons Justin has on his site. But if I had it to do over I would have either purchased something else or just made a donation.

Are you aware that you can purchase Justin's books online at Amazon and pay less than having them shipped from the UK?

Looks like they come in Kindle editions too. I like to use an iPad for music, so this might work out very well!
