Arrow Oska Burman Guitars | MD - Sitka Spruce/Indian Rosewood

Hello all! I hope everyone is well.

This guitar was recently completed & strung up about a month ago. It is my MD-C model. The wood has some history to it too - the Sitka Spruce soundboard is from an old billet that was split back in the late 80's (which I have two more sets of) and the Indian Rosewood back & sides are from master luthier, Stefan Sobell's collection of fairly ancient wood, which I was lucky enough to buy a few sets of a few years ago.

These are some pictures from my photoshoot of the finished instrument & also a demo video. Once again, the very talented Heather Cartwright https://www.heathercartwright.co.uk/ plays one of her own compositions, "The Bell That Never Rang".

As always, a nice pair of headphones or speakers will do the audio justice.

Some specs are:
Top: Sitka Spruce
Back & Sides: Indian Rosewood
Neck: Mahogany
Scale length: 643.5mm (25.4″)
Nut width: 44mm (~1 3/4″)
String spacing @ bridge: 11.3mm (~2 1/4″)
Body depth @ heel: 100mm (4")
Body depth @ tail block: 125mm (5")
Bindings: Bloodwood
Fingerboard & Bridge: Ebony
Nut & saddle: Unbleached bone
Machine heads: Gotoh 510's with Ironwood buttons

I hope you enjoy!

Feedback, comments & questions are always welcome.

Cheers,

Oska

Lovely guitar and sound - the piece accentuates that it's got both body and articulation. And what a gorgeous set of EIR, whoa.

Cheers mate. Yes, it's a great for a fingerstyle guitarist, but also has body & power if you want it.

Wow, that is a beautiful guitar. I also loved the demo video, great player. Is it braced like a Somogyi Mod D, or some other way?

Cheers Anton. Yes it was a lovely original composition by Heather on this guitar & she really brought out the sound qualities with her playing.

I don’t actually know how a Somogyi Mod D is braced inside! This is my interpretation of one, so it is unlikely to be braced the same.
