Default Guitar Tutor Man

http://guitar.freemovies.co.uk/

I found this site while looking up some older songs.
He also has a youtube channel.
I have never seen him mentioned on here before.
Hundreds of songs with videos and he shows all of them slowed down also.
Kinda like Justin and Marty without all the talking.
I do not know this guy or anything else about him.

Unfortunately his site makes Chrome and Safari crash on my ipad. I'll check it out when I can sit down at my computer.

Looks interesting. I choose one song at random to see what he does and looks like it might be helpful. But either my ears are off or his guitar was out of tune and it was bugging the heck out of me.

really out of tune.

Some of the beginner versions were "ok" but generally they missed the mark, in my opinion.

He has a large "library" of videos that he spent a lot of time on and categorized and organized them pretty well.

I listened to about four songs and they were all pretty "off".

Listen to American Pie or Suicide Is Painless and you will see what I mean about being "off".
Listen to Fat Bottom Girls and you will see what I mean about being out of tune.
Listen to A Horse With No Name and Don't Fear The Reaper for wrong.

I got criticized pretty harshly for mentioning in another thread about similar tutors with similar quality so I'll just chime in for another balanced perspective :

Maybe a beginner can get some chords off there but I wouldn't recommend that site. Made my top two list of bad internet tutors.

I read alot of your posts and respect your opinion here.
But, I have only been playing for a year now. And my only teacher and lessons has been the internet.
So I am always thankful for helping sites like this.
I found his "Imagine" song and "Wish you were here" solo to be helpful.
Out of tune? Better ears than mine. I just thought I didn't like the sound of his guitar.

If interested in a guitar solo for "Suicide Is Painless", I tabbed one out here:

I find guitar tutor man to work as a decent starting point. His versions are really simplified, but seem to work well enough for a "quick and dirty" campfire style. And I find him to be a less annoying teacher (since he hardly ever talks) than certain other youtube instructors. I also like that he actually sings the songs so you can really get the timing/coordination of the strumming and chord changes in line with the lyrics.

He does need to buy a new snark or something though!

There was another youtube guitar "instructor" I stumbled across that at first glance seemed alright. Nice variety of songs, fairly well structured chord charts displayed on the video. And then after a few videos I realized he explains how to finger every chord on every video. And refers to major chords as sounding happy and minors as sound sad on every video. And uses his favorite strum pattern on every video.

I think its a great site for those who want to focus on the 21 basic chords, while singing. You could also use it to come up with alternative arrangements quite easily, as the chords he is playing are posted on the video very visually.

So what if he is a bit off key. Tremendous site for those getting into guitar playing.

I wish there was as comprehensive a site for fingerstyle. But we do all have different tastes re what we want to learn.

Confirm his site does not work well on an iPad. I watched one of his videos and I was impressed with his presentation, simple. His guitar sounded fine in the one I watched, Beautiful Boy. I'll check out more on my laptop.
