Thank you luthiers
During this holiday season, I just wanted to thank all the luthiers and builders on AGF for their kind participation and willingness to share their work, insights and opinions. You add considerably to this great learning community and allow us our intermittent reality checks !
Thanks ! John

I have to admit that this forum has been an integral part of who I have become today as a player, and I would not have been anywhere near this path without it. So thank you all, luthiers and members alike, and have a very merry Christmas!

This is a great idea for a post here in the AGF Custom Shop…
Given the public nature of the AGF Custom Shop, one can sometimes forget the inherently solitary life of a luthier crafting custom instruments in their workshop. I also realize that it also takes significant time for a luthier to stop and journal their work in photos and words; whether directly here by them, or by means of their client. Aside from the time investment, it is nice to see the open sharing of design approaches and techniques reflects the open, collegial culture of the luthier community. The body of work journaled here is both beautiful and is educational for all. For all of this, I also wish to stop and take a moment to thank the community of luthiers who take the time to openly exhibit and participate here.

You are certainly welcome, though I feel I should be thanking all the people who frequent this custom forum. I have the opportunity to share what I am making with a larger audience and as someone mentioned, that helps alleviate the solitary nature of the sport. So thanks all for looking and thanks to the other luthiers for sharing.

I haven't been very active here the past couple of years, but was just thinking that I have been enjoying the AGF since 2006, almost 10 years, really appreciate this place, thanks to all and happy holidays.

All active luthiers here show extreme talent and insight. I hope one day I can be of help to others too. Merry Christmas to Ya'll.
