Default Kathy's Song (cover)

As some of you know, I had brain surgery last summer and have been recuperating ever since (I was told that it takes a year or more). As a consequence, the songs I have posted since the operation were tracks that were recorded before the surgery. Well, here is a newly recorded track. It's my cover of Simon & Garfunkel's song "Kathy's Song." Unlike my usual productions, this one is just me and my guitar with no over-dubs, added instruments or harmony vocals. There are a couple of finger picking flubs in there so, please excuse them as I work to regain my abilities. Any and all comments are welcome!

Wow - didn't realize what you had been through. Glad everything is OK now!

I prefer more sparse recordings as a general rule, and this one is great - the guitar sounds super tuned down

Hadn't heard the song in MANY years!

Bob listening to your tender hearted voice really started to choke me up on this beautiful rendition. Brother you haven't lost a step. In fact, I would love to hear more of you like this...jus' folkin' it so real ya know.
You've been in my prayers and this song sounds like a gracious answer.

Bob, This is one of my favorites that you have posted so far. I sort of view it as a celebration song for your recovery. I really was touched by how simple it was with just you and your guitar. So glad that you are doing well !!!!!!

Sounds fantastic! Your recovery so far is a success! So happy for you!

You really captured the spirit of the song. This was the perfect song for going solo. Really fantastic job on guitar and vocal.

I really like those early S&G songs.

Great job, Bob!

Thank you, very much, mesa!! You are very kind. I will have to try more "solo" recordings for sure because I don't think I have the stamina or concentration ability right now to multitrack individual parts.

A prayer has been answered. Music to my ears. I've never liked anything better my friend.

Sooooo you sure picked a pretty song for your come back! Your finger work sounds great. It's interesting because after listening to so many of your productions, I can hear EXACTLY where you'd layer in the harmonies. I really like this "as is" for so many reasons! Welcome back Bobbyio, every note sounds just a bit sweeter I'd say!
