anything by everclear
any rap
anything by the beegees

everclear songs are just so depressing. all he sings about is getting beat and his dad leaving and sad stuff like that.

some rap is funny, but it is not good.

beegees just get on my nerves, but i do like the ozzy osbourne version of staying alive, its freaking hilarious

My 13 year old son downloaded Stairway to Heaven this afternoon. he asked me if I knew it and i said yes. He asked me if I ever played it in front of an audience and I said no. I said it would actually probably go over well after all this time, but i was explaining to him how it had always been kind of a joke. He wasn't understanding why. Funny thing, one minute later I got on the forum and the first thread I looked at was this one, and the first new post was Trombones, saying she has to laugh everytime she hears a kid play it. Ha ha. I called him over to read it, he is still shaking his head.

I do think it is a good song, just overplayed on the radio for a while, and pretty long. I think anything that gets popular with a lot of people also gets hated by others. (That is not to say that popular songs are not sometimes truly bad!Of course, I have never been above playing popular covers. At least six of the songs I perform regularly have been nominated in this thread as the worst song in the history of mankind. )

I enjoyed this thread! I can also stick up for the BeeGees. Not the disco part, but the BeeGees were cool in their own way...

Default It's Now or Never is really "O Sole Mio"

I really can't stand "It's now or never" by Elvis....All the things I hate are gathered in this song...Syrup music (bad syrup), stupid words, bad interpretation, bad adaptation...
While I agree, the tune is completely a lift from "O Sole Mio." So that's ITALIAN syrup, not Tennesee syrup.

What am I talking about?

As long as I'm still writing songs, you ain't heard the worst song ever, yet!

I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. But I would have to say one of the worst songs I have ever heard would have to be...

Martian Boogie, by Brownsville Station

Horrible

To me, this has been the best line of this whole thread. What spirit, what willpower, what determination! My eyes get moist at the vision of someone so dedicated to being exceptional in their field.

Hang in there, Meridian. The competition is strong, but with perseverance I believe you can do it!!
