FS: Franklin (Nick Kukich) Jumbo Koa
I came to the painful realization last night that this guitar needs to find another home. My osteoarthritis is not going away, and I cannot play for even half an hour without extreme pain in my left hand. This has been going on for years now, and I need to face the truth.
Nut = 1 13/16" Bridge = 2 3/8" Top - German spruce, voiced with light strings Body - Koa (same sets as used on El McMeen's jumbo koa) Fingerboard - Brazilian rosewood, bound with Brazilian rosewood Bridge - Brazilian rosewood Ameritage "Gold" case Here is the original build thread: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=196556 Franklin Guitars website: http://www.franklinguitarcompany.com/ I'll get some pictures soon - right now I'm just getting the word out in case anyone is actively seeking a Franklin jumbo. Value is circa $10,000. Asking $7500 + shipping. Offers? Regards, George GeoKasch at juno dot com, shipping from New Mexico

Wow, gorgeous woods and the spacings are perfect! So sorry to hear you're not able to enjoy it anymore. If I didn't have a Montuoro Prairie State due in a few months I'd be all over this one. I remember that build thread.
Best of luck with the sale!

Thanks,Nate. Yes, this is one of those Grail guitars, and it is sucking the life out of me to admit to myself that my passion for playing is coming to the end of its path.
Enjoy your Prairie State - the basic design is amazing. Nick voiced this Franklin with light strings, and it is simply incredible to experience such a huge voice coming from so little effort from the player. Cheers, George

So nice! I can only imagine the tone from this one! If only I could handle a jumbo. George, I remember you from back in the R.M.M.G.A. days, when you only played guitars with the "G" on the headstock! The good old Gurians! Stay well, and keep going for the tone! And remember, when we can't play, we can still hear & feel! The language never stops!

Don't forget that a Franklin Jumbo's thickness is on the order of an OM. If you can sit on a stool and reach a drink on top of the bar, you can probably reach comfortably over a Franklin Jumbo. Ahh, the Gurians... Still here. And with the narrow round necks on them, I may get a few more years of singin' and playin'! Thanks for the kind thoughts. All the best to you and yours, George
