Got this concho strap about 15 years ago - I've had it repaired a couple times, but love the broken-in feel and look..

Cool What is your favorite strap?

I like a variety of different straps, some plain and some more decorative.

Mine is the Taylor suede strap. Not because it's a Taylor but because it's the most comfortable strap I've ever owned. I've used them on all my guitars but one, even the ones that weren't Taylors.

I like my Taylor leather and suede straps. I also like my custom-made strap that was made by Christian Brooks, the same guy who personally made Stevie Ray Vaughan "SRV" strap:

Beautiful, I second Bob at Brookwood. Haven't seen better custom straps anywhere. I have yet to reward myself with one, but I know what I'll order from him when I do. Have a couple of bright ideas, and will ask him make it an exclusive, might as well make it one of a kind.

The strap on the right has a pretty cool story. I had an interview for a pharmacy school in 2011 down in south Texas, and my mom and I turned it into a road trip. On the way back we stopped by Willie's Place in Carl's Corner, Texas. Hanging up in the gifts section was this guitar strap. I knew something was special about it, so I grabbed it up for $30.00. It was made by Ovation guitar straps in Texas. I noticed the prices were considerably more than $30.00 for his straps. I contacted the owner about the guitar strap. Turns out some family member of Willie Nelson ordered it as a gift for Willie. Due to back problems, and the iconic strap he already uses this one somehow made it to the sales floor. I am not sure if this was accidental or intentional. The maker of the strap was very professional, but I could tell he was disheartened that I had come into possession of it. I asked him if he wanted it back, if he wanted me to play with it, or if he wanted me to preserve it. He told me to play with it, and he likes updates of me playing with the strap. Unfortunately, I am more of a living room rocker, so it has not gone on to fortune and fame.

Levy's Leathers makes this awesome strap for Taylor. I installed the Taylor strap button.

Like Dave, I prefer to make my own - 3" wide, brown, or tan, with blackened edges. but with minimal or no decoration (mainly because I'm not that clever about decoration).

I like to finish so that the strap "colour coordinates" with the guitar.

No metal work apart from one Schaller Straplock for the connection to the heel (end).

However, I have always fancied a hand carved strap, but know that the artwork is beyond me and recently I found a leather worker who could produce good hand carved work and commissioned a strap with oak leaf clusters and my name - it is a delight.

Only problem - it is VERY thick and difficult to fold into an ameritage case.

On a somewhat sad note, when I sell a guitar, I usually keep the strap. So I have a collection of lonely straps now.
Here's the strap for "Luke' the 1937 Nick Lucas copy
