What's it sound like, seriously?
Looks like it's well built of quality woods. The headstock is a deal breaker for me. u-g-l-y. |

As someone who's played a Simon & Patrick Mahogany Mini-Jumbo, I'd say the tone should be perfectly mellow, but not too bright. Meaty maybe? I love mahogany and Seagulls are just easy to play and a tone you can count on. The headstock does takes some getting used to, but after awhile you appreciate the originality for its character. I'm about 5 secs from just hitting BIY, lol - only thing stopping me if the angel on my right shoulder!

The one in the auction is B stock...
Don't know what that means.
FWIW, my local dealer got one in today. I didn't wait around to see if it was the dread, mini-jumbo or folk. I've had the folk model for almost a month and it is fantastic. I have a hard time putting it down.

I emailed the dealer yesterday and he claims that Seagull labeled it "B" because there's supposed to be a scratch under the finish near the sound hole. Supposedly you can't even see it even when you look dead at it because it just doesn't seem visible. Bad thing is a B stock will have a lower re-sell value, but for less than 500 bones for an all solid Seagull I don't think you can complain

The headstock shape is really the only negative thing I have heard about the Seagull brand. All other accounts have been positive, particularly the intonation and playability. Never having played one though, I do wonder if they have a certain unique sound.

Looks like serial #2 on the label in the soundhole. $50 shipping seems a little steep.

No, this one should not be in classifieds. Classifieds is a selling and buying section for AGF members only to sell their own music items. Not for selling anyone else's.
Just wanted to clear that up.

I had a chance to play a SWS Mini Jumbo at C.B. Perkins last week when I was in the Bay Area. I certainly prefer the sound coming out of the Spruce top, as opposed to the Cedar-topped ones. The tone is crisp and clear, although I thought it could've used a bit more volume and projection. But then again, it is a sub-$1k all-solid guitar.
IMO, I'm not sure if Godin has "mastered" the manufacturing of all-solid guitars the way it has the laminate-b/s guitars, but it's not a bad start.
