Tired of your amp?
Try putting it away for a while.
I bought a Mesa Boogie V:35 combo (Celestion V30) back when they first came out in 2015. I played the SNOT out of it, almost daily, until about a month ago when I had to pack it up to prepare for a move. Before packing it up I had started to get a little, I don't know, bored(?) with it and started to think the unthinkable--that maybe I needed to move on. Well, I unpacked it today, plugged it in and...heaven. Wow, nothing like forced deprivation to re-set the ears and appreciate the beautiful tones your favorite amp can put out. If you're starting to think the grass is greener on the other side of the full stack, try shelving your amp for a little while. Worked for me.

I try to rotate through mine regularly. And, like you, I find bringing out an old favorite sparks fresh new ideas.

Thanks for the reminder. I guess I'd better plug into my THR5 and give it a go again. It's been awhile since I've played through it.

Humm !! I wonder if my wife will buy into me "having" to have more than one amp so as not to get bored and have the first amp purchase go to waste ???????

I agree. I do the same thing with all of my electric guitars and amps. I have too many of both, so when GAS strikes -and it still does despite how many amps I have - I fend it off by playing something that's been ignored for awhile.

You can never have too many amps. The past few months I started playing my Traynor YCV50 Blue and it's a fantastic amp. One day I'll plug in the Marshall again and I'll go "wow, that sounds fantastic". Good to rotate the amps to keep things fresh.

A fool and his money are soon parted. As expected, Musicians Friend offered a %15 Memorial Day sale, so I ordered the Katana100w head. And I blew most of my savings by asking to have the amp delivered overnight....its a sickness...I need help. Unfortunately I don't think this is the place to be looking for it....lol.

Thanks! Yes, it is a monster. Like I said, I played the CRUD out of it for like 18 months straight. During its rest, I gave my Blackstar, Marshall DSL15 (now sold), Peavey 6505MH all heavy workouts. The Blackstar and Peavey are total keepers, but when I hauled out the V:35, it wasn't even funny. What a beastly and beautiful sounding amp.
