Music Memos App for iPad
Last year I received a free iPad due to a purchase I made. But I only started messing around with it a few weeks ago. As a struggling beginning guitarist I was looking for an easy and convenient way to record myself without breaking the bank. Someone on another thread suggested this app and wow, this is a nifty little tool to have around. I like how one can add in a bass player and drummer and change the tempo. I actually sound musical. Believe me, that's big to me. Even though it's not heavy laden with features, it fits the bill as for being simple, easy and incredibly useful. I'm sure many others use this, but I'm somewhat of a slacker when it comes to using modern tech stuff.

I use it all the time because it's about all I've been able to figure out to do home recording. I have no idea how to use Garageband even after watching a few instruction videos. Seems very user unfriendly but lots of guys seem to have figured it out.

Another great free app is the Taylor app that gives you multi track recording.

The great thing about Music Memos is you can export your recordings directly to a Garageband or Logic project. Really useful and seems to be pretty accurate in figuring out chords.
