Court NEVER finds someone innocent. Guilty or not guilty. Period. In criminal court the standard is beyond a reasonable doubt. In civil action it is just the preponderance of the evidence.

News stories, whether TV or newspapers are a lousy place to get information about legal matters.

This man had serious issues. Likely on 'roids at the time of the murder. Likely has CTE on top of everything else. Not excusing his behavior, just stating likelihoods.

I feel for his family as well as the victim's families.

Be careful how fast you state someone got what they deserved. We would all be in trouble if that is the case.

I asked the guy what happened and his statement was paraphrased "I killed him, the mf'er took the last pork chop and it was mine, so I stabbed him." They were brothers. No sign of remorse or sorrow that he had just killed his brother, just anger over a pork chop. How do you teach against that???
All this, and still there are people who refuse to believe that evil exists.

By aligning MA laws with that of most states: a convict who dies while an appeal is in process dies a convict.

Not in this case. The MA law wipes the whole process clean => innocent.

There is some speculation that there's more to the story than what's been reported. We'll see.

Someone brought up they wondered if CTE played a role.... so we will know if he had CTE. I think his actions were the test for evil...

Well, he was in danger of not being drafted because he was a bad guy. So I don't think his actions were from full blown CTE

Lots of conjecture that his mom was involved with organized crime, specifically running a gambling operation. Who knows what he saw, and how it impacted his morals, empathy, and humanity.

Just sayin'. He wasn't an innocent blank slate who was affected from a few concusions.

He got acquitted of the other two murders and I just heard that his original conviction was under appeal. Apparently there is a "loophole" if you die while your case is under appeal your estate is entitled to all your "stuff" because you didn't get a chance to argue your appeal.

So, after being acquitted, with the last conviction on appeal, he died, now his family can recover all his benefits from his NFL income etc.

Evil genius
