Default Does anyone know what’s going on with Breedlove?

Long time lurker, finally decided to sign up so this is my first posting

I saw a Breedlove for sale a while back and in the ad it said Breedlove only does custom orders now?

Also I tried to access their website and it no longer exists.

Is this the end for Breedlove?

After reading your post, I just attempted to access Breedlove's website also.

"URL - Nothing found".

Could it be the end of the road for Breedlove? Only Tom Bedel knows for sure...

Default Breedlove

I had heard that they were moving toward US being only custom built guitars.

I'm not sure what's up with the web site. That looks more like they didn't renew the web site or it's been disabled to deal with a hack or DOS attack.

The Two Old Hippies site is still up and shows Breedlove as one of their brands.

Hmmmmmm......

As a current Breedlove owner this is intriguing news, and yes, I cannot pull up the website either, and gooling shows no news about them going out of business. It will be very interesting to see the current situation

I'm on their mailing list and received an email this morning. The site worked fine but it does look like they're advertising custom builds only.
I already erased it or I would have provided the link.

I wouldn't worry about it. Sites frequently go down for renovations, updates, etc.

Conspiracy theorists have Breedlove feverishly preparing to take over Gibson production, once Bedel buys the company's assets at the reportedly impending bankruptcy auction.

Popcorn, anyone?

Well, hmm.

I almost bought one a few weeks ago but decided to wait and get it later. That may have been a poor decision.

I pulled up the site just now and all looks fine. Seems to be listing all of their models and categories. Probably just a site update.

It does seem like they're emphasizing the US role, since their Chinese-made guitars are all now listed as "Designed in Bend."

And they do seem to be pushing custom guitars out of the Bend shop.

I’m probably diluting my chances,
But I received an e-mail for a contest.
The contest is for a custom Breedlove.
I “designed” a doozie based on the options offered.
I’m not terribly worried about winning.
If I don’t win, I have a ton of great guitars.
If I do win. I fulfill “n+1”.

I was just on their site, and when you click on Instruments / Guitars, they list

Custom Shop
Made in Bend
Designed in Bend
Specialty Guitars

All the guitars seem to be there, including the Pursuit/Solo series - but there's also a 'Pre-2018 Archive' Button on the left - they website definitely got a revamp, but it doesn't look like they're getting out of the business, just redesigning the website.

I did it too. I don't think I'd win either but it doesn't hurt to try.

Yea, my design made me tear up when I read the specs too... dare to dream.

I believe that Tom Bedell bought Breedlove and now makes Bedell and Breedlove guitars there.

I bought a beautiful Bahia from them:

Whenever Breedlove retools and raises their prices, I stroke my blond jumbo Breedlove that much sweeter.
