My guitars came with names, Waterloo WL-12, Martin OO-15m, etc.

I wouldn't want to give them an identity crisis by a name change,..

I have never given a guitar a name but I do know my MD by its serial number #32

and the MDW is known as #99 although technically it is Kostal guitar #100

All the best

MDW

Apparently eleven attempts to share your wisdom and maturity about a subject you find absurd and redundant isn’t enough.

Nor are yours. Rather obessive to count my posts. I think 12 attempts will do for me.

Hmmmm . . . . I've never thought about giving my guitars names, but now it sounds like a good idea!
  • The Taylor Dread: Cyrus J. Bilgewater
  • The Yairi Classical: Lesbark Wagmore the Third
Done.

It's a mandola, not a guitar and it's called Nelson.

For you, RefrigRaider, why not call them names like Dagwood, after a Dagwood sandwich, and Caesar, after Caesar salad? Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

I don't know about that. I do need to change the Yairi's name - "Lesbark Wagmore" is an actual AGF member, I've just liked the name since I saw it lol

Other, more realistic names for my two guitars:
  • Twang
  • Thud

As you can see by my signature where I fall so far as the original question is concerned.

But this comment is funny anyway you look at it. Mine should have similar names, just ask my dog!

I had an old acoustic that I named Blister. It was a very realistic name.
