I also Googled " Is the song Days of 49 in the public domain " which went nowhere also ?
Now according to one book I have it is listed as Traditional which I assume means public domain but did not get any such reference by gooling the words I used .
All four of my projects were hammered dulcimer projects.

Two of the four projects were of traditional hymns. One was a Christmas, and the other was traditional bluegrass, folk, etc. It was pretty easy to find (IMO). . I ran across these huge lists of public domain songs, and it was too staggering for me to look through (and I didn't know about the cntrl + f feature either), so I just googled them.

I was just stating what had worked for me. However, my way is definitely not the only way.

Hey no problem, It was just that I have tried googling specific songs on a number of occasions (Including again yesterday),but didn't really get a result that stated if it was in the public domain or not . And was hoping it was perhaps related to some specific search words and order ..
What is the "cntrl + f feature" ?

What is the "cntrl + f feature" ?
On a PC (I'm sure there's some magic that you can do on a Mac as well), if you have a long document and you are looking for a specific word or phrase, you can hit the cntrl key plus "f." When you do this, on most browsers (in addition to MS Word and some PDF docs), and little box will pop up. You can type in any word (or a partial word or phrase) and it will search the entire page for whatever you typed in.

On a huge list containing hundreds of songs, you can use this "find" feature to find a certain song. I use this tool just about every day.
