I got one of the 'H' models (hybrid fiberglass/CF), it is even darker and more bassy than the regular ones. I paid the $500 premium for a tobacco burst finish too, so you can't tell it is a CF guitar, not sure that part will hold its resale value, but I am not planning to sell it anytime soon.
It is so bassy I put 80/20's on it to brighten it up a bit, they seem to be a good match for it.

I realize this is an old thread, but it has new replies so...
I love my H-OM. I love that it has a truss rod and not all CF brands do. My neck is perfectly dialed in for my playing style and it's cool that it will never move. I have a "better" guitar, but the Rainsong has become my main acoustic because I can take it anywhere and not worry. And to me. It sound exactly like a guitar. I'll never get rid of it.

That's ok. Perhaps it shows how far Rainsong has come in that time. As for me giving an old thread new life, I'm 64 and wish someone would do the same for me...

Regardless of the age of the thread (since it has been brought up again)... I LIKE the sharks! One of my favorite parts of my Limited Edition Shorty from LA Guitars.

Personally I think it's an abomination to cover up the pretty carbon weave with a tobacco sunburst, but apparently someone is buying them or they wouldn't keep making them.

No, they moved to Woodinville, Washington, just north of Seattle. A surprisingly small shop, too, to me.

Love the sharks. My wife wants a parlor but she says the sharks are mandatory, so I might have to talk to Ted about a custom order.

As someone who has been scuba diving in Hawaii with mano (sharks) more than once (exciting dives) I wouldn't have it any other way. My Rainsong WS-1000 is Hawaiian made from a couple of years before they moved to WA. And I agree that the exposed carbon weave is a thing of beauty, but that may be the engineer in me. I feel the same way about opaque finishes on wood guitars - let me see the grain.
