While I would, of course, have no idea what topwood would pair best with Hog B&S for your taste in tone, I have found Giant Redwood (Sequoiadendron Giganteam) when paired with hog pleases my ear and works exeptionally well for my playing style.

I've never heard of giant sequoia being used. Who supplied the top?

I've been partial to a Mahogany top since I've learned to play guitar. It's just...different.

Any top wood you like... as long as it's adirondack spruce!

Sounds like a nice guitar. All my favorite instruments have had red spruce tops over the years.

Fingers crossed, I have a moon spruce top coming on a custom guitar (BRW) so I hope that stuff is up to snuff. I hear good things.

I just love the dry, crack of adirondack. Especially on my old Martin guitars. It's just the sound my ears are looking for when I listen to acoustic guitar. I'm partial to mahogany too.

Good luck!
