OK, y'all, Ariel will be here tomorrow. A day early. Thank you very much Mr Fedex. I've had my issues with these folks, but they did a great job this time. Mobile, AL to Portland, OR in just over 24 hours. The weather up and down the I5 corridor tomorrow should make the rest of the trip to my door easy on the guitar.

Sleep might be elusive tonight.

Fedex and UPS get so much negative feedback here, but you only hear about the bad cases. I have shipped and received a lot of guitars especially with the show guitars and only 1 out of probably 50 was ever late and was not damaged, just late.

Yes, common carriers have taken their share of complaints, many of which are well deserved. The usually stem from the carrier over promising and making commitments they can't keep. Often, tracking information is delayed or inaccurate.

Case in point. Fedex tracking says Ariel is to be delivered today between 11AM & 3PM. The same page says she's still in Portland (300 miles to the north) as of 9AM. I know it takes about 4 hours to drive from here to Portland. So they could make delivery within their specified window. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes not so much. I do hope they make good on their promise, buy all I can do is wait it out as calmly as possible.

As of about an hour ago, my guitar landed in Medford, about 45 minutes south of here. I can't imagine Fedex allowing it to languish there for more than a few hours. So maybe I should put a light in the window I know, I know... Stay calm.

The Fedex guy appeared at my front door about 4 PM. The box showed absolutely no signs of distress.

Now the question is should I do my NGD journal here of over in the General Forum?

I apologize for the delay, but I posted my NGD + a couple days after thread on the General Forum here;
