Default New Carvin AG300 Coming

Howdy,

After reading posts on this forum about the subject guitar amp, I decided to buy one. I don't know that I will ever use it (play at coffee houses, etc.). But thought I should have something readily available in case I do. I am hoping I made a good decision. I wanted a Schertler or Bose, but don't know that the extra money would have been prudent.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

TW

I think you'll be very pleased, Prof - IMO Carvin offers unbeatable bang for the buck; BTW, the MB12 bass version is my go-to low-end rig - and I've been thinking of getting an AG300 myself (in matching black, of course) "just in case," as you did...

Post a review when it arrives...

Really excited to hear about your new amp day. I was just about to buy one had I not won a schertler jam 150 on ebay. That one is coming in soon too.

Hey,

Congrats on your Jam 150. I "eyed" that one as well. I hope it meets (or exceeds) your expectations!

Cool! We will need details after you get it.
FWIW, I have been using Carvin PA gear for years, and it does a real good job for me. Lots of luck with yours.

In Switzerland, Carvin AG series amps cost as much as Schertler.

What cabinet color did you end up going with?

Not too many acoustic amps interest me - I've always opted for a full PA, but the AG300 has all the features I'd want (phantom on two channels and a 3 way cabinet) I think I'll wait until I can pick up a used one and give it a try.

Interested to see what you think of it.

Congratulations

Looks like a very versatile little box. I don't have any Carvin electronics, but I love my Carvin bass.

Choice of cabinet color is key. I would be kind of tempted by the snakeskin, which should also be perfect for Kramster, since he lives way out in the desert somewhere.

The bubblegum pink would be a good option if you want to be sure that nobody's going to steal it.

It's some kind of brown. I bought this off eBay, but it came from Carvin. I think this color is OK.

I've only played it for ~ 30 minutes (and only through my guitar), but so far, so good. I like the effects, but haven't messed with the Chorus much. The echo and reverb are definitely usable. I have only played it at low volume so I hate to say any more about it, until I really give it a go-through.
