Behringer ADI21 TIPS
I've been thru at least 4 of these in the last 10 years. The older ones came in clear plastic . The newer ones come in a small cardboard box . The older ones never seemed to do much. I pulled them all apart and noticed the older ones had a dark green circuit board with poor workmanship ,cold solder joints and likely the reason I was not impressed with any improvement of sound to speak of ..I recently bought another . it came in a cardboard box . I looked at the circuit board and it was yellow ? Hm the workmanship on soldering was definitely improved and this was the only model out of 4 that seemed to really improve sound and output . Behringer must have found a better manufacturer to make them. Seems they did some minor changes in the circuitry from a close visual inspection .
Behringer makes other products which use an AC to AC converter, Yes I made the mistake on an older one and fried it ...I also was quick to change a battery in another and briefly touched the plug in reverse polarity, that one will no longer work on a battery, another old one .. The one in the cardboard box is dated 2014 and is the only one to date which works correctly , has great output and improved sound with the LR BAGGS M1 passive . XLR out has loads of output compared to the 1/4 inch...Using NiMH rechargeable 9Volt batteries saves a lot of buying batterys .. |
