Things you can discuss on forums with impunity and support, a. praise and worship music, b. gun collecting, c. creationism. Just an observation.

I put up the philosophy thread because I teach this subject at University, that of philosophy and wanted to get a feel for how our community (which mostly consists of seniors) sees human nature. I felt the discussion was kind, fair, balanced and decent.

Anyhow that's it. Back to discussing NGD. Not a bad topic, but sometimes one craves something a bit more substantial than sports events or thoughts on whether Bob Dylan was media savvy.
This forum is the way it is. I don't like everything that happens here (e.g. some, but not all, gun threads). I'd love to find a forum that would permit/support the kind of exploration you were hoping for. If you find one, or if you start one, please let me know. In the meantime, we are posting here, reading here.

sometimes when i'm in a hotel room, with a big noisy air circulating unit, and i turn it off, i wonder how long it would take me to use up all the oxygen in the room. thankfully, it always appears to be more than 1 night.

Thought I would come back just to recharge. I'll turn the lights off when I leave.

Oh, btw, I brought some more oxygen with me. Enjoy, it's on me.

Thanks Bucc!

Good post (because I agree with it.) : ),

One other point/observation: there are some who, apparently, cannot read a thread, without posting multiple thoughts, of their own. Guns, evolution, depression, climate change, cloth diapers? - Yeah, I have experience and insight on all of them, so listen up.

Well, the first one was a fake (as I was told after posting), so its really myth vs. fact. The second photo is fact, nothing but the facts...

call me a skeptic, but i'm not so sure the second one is real. i mean i've never seen text in the sky that legible before. and the arrow pointing at earth is just too coincidental.

Yeah, I have seen some text in the sky when I was a kid and they would hire airplanes to write adds up across the blue sky -- "Eat at Joes" kind of thing. But I have never seen a big arrow or text in the night sky before. Then again, this text thing could help greatly with identification of planets and stars in the night sky.
