I watched the 6 periods of Ducks vs Hawks last night....what a marathon!!! It almost went into quadruple OT as well. Highlight was Shaw headbutting the puck in the net for a no goal.
I forget what time the game ended on the west coast here but it must have been something close to 2am for the east coasters LOL. Longest game in Hawks history.
Good hockey but I think the Ducks are physically going to pound Chicago into hurtsville and win the series. .
That's what I kept thinking as the game went on. These Ducks are scary big, fast, and never lack energy! I can't see them losing this or the final series.

Agreed, and I don't think New York or Tampa Bay can take them, either. Although Bishop is so freakin' big he changes the odds just by crouching in goal...

Anyway, I'm kind of hoping Anaheim does take the cup, because the Jest acquitted themselves fairly well against the Ducks despite losing four straight, and I think that's something to build on for next year.

Never underestimate the power of fans at the Madhouse on Madison--even more fanatical than Bulls fans. I see this going to at least 6 games, perhaps even 7. The Ducks are formidable, but none of them are the juggernaut that LeBron James was for the Cavs (brought Michael Jordan in his heyday to mind, jersey # and all).

If you and your hubby were out this way I'd put up a wager with you on this series.....Napa or Sonoma Red?

JPD, Huge news here in Canada. I don't think anyone saw it coming. $50M contract over 8 years, which is a tremendous amount more than any other coach makes. Babcock's well known and liked in Canada since he won 2 Olympic gold medals.

Well, at least now, when they keep losing, they'll know it's not the coach!

Exactly! This coming from a life-long Leafs fan living in the Ottawa area (Sens territory), who finally gave up on them after this past season. While still a Leafs fan, I was hoping Babcock would sign with them despite that many top coaches in the past have taken on this ultimate challenge...and failed, only to be spit out. I wish Babcock and the Leafs well, but I'm now a bonafied Sens fan.

Sorry, sorry - my sister is a Loafs fan and I tease her mercilessly. To be fair, I also refer to my hometown team as the Jest. I detest pro sports, but I'll hold my nose and watch the odd playoff game because I love hockey and like to see it played well.

If I were out there, or you here....Sonoma Pinot Noir (Russian R.). Mind you, I didn’t say the Hawks would win, only go at least 6 games. (5 is already a given).

LOL, you're right. The difference is that Babcock will insist his players play to their abilities. If you don't give your best effort (i.e. Kessel//Phaneuf) you'll sit or be traded. A rebuild can be exciting and Toronto has their first piece in play now.
