Maybe that speeding is wrong, and that's all he's concerned with?
If he is ever in a similar situation, while passing a vehicle going slower than the speed limit, and needs to exceed the speed limit to avoid a crazy, reckless driver on his tail, he might understand what we are discussing.

For me, the point is not to enforce the law, or to take it upon myself to punish speeders, or to withhold the right of way, or to block the passing lane, or any of the other bizarre misrepresentations of my opinion that have been spat at me through some three hundred posts. For me the point is that this law is ill considered because it diverts law enforcement resources from speeders to otherwise law-abiding non-speeders. That's all.

It's interesting to note that all I have done in this thread is calmly repeat my opinion and respond to everyone who appears to have addressed me. The only other times I can recall such ire on the part of those receiving my opinion were, curiously enough, discussions on photo radar (I'm in favour) and on the practice of warning other drivers of speed traps (I'm not in favour). The conclusion is there to be drawn.

I've clearly stated, and will do so again here, that I think that is wrong, and very bad driving.
