Singer/songwriter from NJ debut album

Hey, everyone!

I'm a singer/songwriter from NJ that's trying to record my debut album, but to do it right will take more funds than I currently have.

Then I heard about Kickstarter which, if you don't know, is a way of raising funds for an artistic project by asking people to, in this case, pre-order my CD. The funds raised will help me fulfill a lifelong dream of doing an album.

Here's the deal: It's an all or nothing proposition. I need to reach my target amount or the CD won't be able to be recorded and released. All the details are contained on the Kickstarter link below.

So....I'm heading into the final stages of my campaign and I wanted to see if I could hit the finish line running. I came up with this idea...

Anyone that pledges any amount over the next 24 hours (or by 10:30 am 8/16/14) will be put into a drawing to automatically receive the next highest reward package. So for example, if you select the $20 you'll receive the $25 reward. If you select the $100 reward, you'll get the $125 level.

Hey, you've got 22 backers who want a physical CD, that's pretty good in this day and age.
What are your plans if you don't hit your goal? Find a cheaper studio, or maybe get the equipment and record yourself?

If I don't hit the goal, I'll probably have to let it go. I don't have the skills/knowledge to make a decent home recording. Plus, I'm not sure I could afford the right equipment anyway! LOL.

I'm hopeful that I'll hit it (I'm at 75% now, just a few more CD's to go). I think my songs are good (as any songwriter should), but I don't think my demos/recording sensibility have done them justice. I'm hoping to get that chance.
