Default Guess the value..

If any one can be bothered to humor me with this little experiment..
Here's a link to a recording I've made with a little fingerstyle guitar.
Played with a capo on the second fret.

Anyone want to guess the approx value of this instrument?
Below $500? Between $500 & $1000? Higher?

All will be revealed later!

No idea on the price. Sometimes a less expensive guitar and player bond the right way and it sounds great. I have an inexpensive "b-stock" Samick D-8CE (solid cedar over lam rw dread) and it is a lifetime guitar for me. I can make that guitar sound fantastic.
Given the fact you made this post, I would say this is a less than $500 instrument. It sounds like a "million bucks" though. You and the guitar sound very good.

Ah! I see you are a shrewd man Bryant. You're right, it is sub $500.
The guitar in question is a Sigma 00M-15S. A sweet little guitar..
Thanks for your kind comment,
Graham

The playing is solid. Nice job.

The tone is slightly compressed with quick decay. I assumed it was a less expensive guitar but could not be sure because it is difficult to judge a guitar based on a recording on the internet.

A poor recording set up can make an expensive guitar sound compressed.

You are right. The guitar in question is a little Sigma 00M-15S. Recorded with a zoom H2 and just normalized with Audacity.
For the money though, it's a very nice sounding little guitar. Thanks for your reply!

Very nicely played, gradun, and congrats on finding a good sounding affordable guitar.

Recordings can be surprising, where right is left, up is down.
