Congrats! Best sounding guitar I've ever owned (and I've owned some pretty fine guitars) was a custom build John did for me ten or so years ago -- a mini-jumbo in old-growth Brazilian and bearclaw sitka with a florentine cutaway and all the trimmings. It was spectacular, and I should never have let it leave. Maybe I'll be in a position to have another custom Northwood one day -- and I sure like the look of yours!

Default Great choice

I can't speak with much experience to most of the projects shown on this forum, but I have an idea of what just came your way. I have a Northwood 00 and other guitars, one ABW, another with a German top. They are each great guitars. The Northwood is a delight to play, the most comfortable of any 00 with which I am familiar. While somewhat smaller and less deep than my idea of a 00, it is outstanding as to playability and intonation. I have felt for some time that ABW takes the pants off other back and sides. It offers a clarity that I have only heard elsewhere in old and prized Prairie States and Martins. The German top is on a Collings C10, a guitar that ranks with the best of the 00s. This one has mahogany b/s but it will run with the bulls so to speak. All of this was in my immediate reaction to your post. Thought I would pass it along. I am delighted for you, believe you chose well, would love to hear it. Congratulations.

By the way, can you confirm the trim woods? Altogether a wonderful combination.

Well most of you know that I love my Northwoods. I came from mostly 12 string guitars and have since sold most of them except for a Lakewood and a Northwood 12 string.
The 00 size is my preferred instrument.
Halfmoon, that Collins sound's really nice.
This is my first guitar with ABW or German Spruce and Wow what a reverb.
I will post a link with the sound as soon as I record her.
The trim around the neck and headstock is Maple.
The Body is Koa.

Thanks for looking
Carlos
