A modeler like the katana? To get multiple tones or one tube amp? If tube which one? Feel free to change opinions depending on guitar but overall which would you choose?

The Mesa Boogie Rosette by a mile. Because it has the best EQ section of them all, plus 300 watts, lightweight, great recording output, two channels similar to a high end mixing board, sounds great with all my guitars including the electrics. Plus a bunch of little things that add up to a very professional quality amp.

Yes I do have a bunch of amps including the Katana 50, the Fender GT 40, the '59 Bassman ri, some Marshalls and Fender amps, the SFX, the Supro, but my favorite is the Rosette.

Good Lord, TexSunburst that's an incredible list...ditto for MartinManiac. Makes my 6 or 7 guitars seem like rather impoverished list.. But then I'm still learning to play...Cheers! ---geoff

There is no Guild acoustic...just a couple of Martins, a couple of Taylors and a Pono.

Here's some additional info on the Rosette amp. I played it out tonight at a 75' x 75' gymnasium. It was plenty loud enough at a setting of about 2. The sound seem to get louder as I walked away from the amp while one of my friends was playing Johnny B Goode thru it. The tone was excellent with a very nice low end. The E chord would just fill the room with a nice bass sound. The lead parts he played cut right thru the air with no problem. Here again, filled the room with sound.

Before the show I was jamming out with my blue Gretsch hollow body to Chris Isaak's Wicked games, and the ladies that were there were loving it. They all said how good my guitar sounded thru the amp...that's all I needed to hear.

I kept on doing sound checks at various volume levels. I turned it up half way and shook the whole room, I was too scared to turn it up all the way. I didn't need to turn it up all the way, half way was more than I'll ever use.

For being such a small amp, the sound filled the room with no problem, I was quite surprised on how the sound carried thru out. Yep the Rosette passed all my sound checks.
