Default Help with Jason Aldean The Truth

Been trying to learn this today but having a problem when going into the part "just don't tell them I've gone crazy." That C chord just doesn't sound like the right transition into that line coming off a C from the previous verse. Can you guys take a look at the chords below and see if it's just me?

Thanks Jed

G Cadd9 G Cadd9 G C D

G Cadd9
Tell em all I'm on vacation,
G Cadd9
Say I went to visit friends,
G C
That you ain't heard or seen from me in quite a while,
G C
When they ask you where I've been,
D Caad9 D
Tell em I'm out on the west coast where it don't ever rain,
C
And that I'm probably doing fine,

(Chorus)
C G D
Just don't tell em I've gone crazy,
C G D
That I'm still strung out over you,
C Em
Tell em anything you want to,
D Cadd9
Just don't tell em all the truth,
G D
Yeah don't tell em all the truth,

Tell em all I'm out in Vegas,
Blowin' every dollar I ever made,
Tell em that I must be into something bad for me cause,
I sure lost a lot of weight,
Tell em I'm out on the road with some old rock and roll band,
Living like a gypsy can,

(Chorus)
C G
The truth is that I'm asking you to lie,
D C
And we both know that it ain't right,
G
But if you ever loved me please,
D C
Have some mercy on me,
G D C G D C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
C Em
Tell em anything you want to,
D Cadd9
Just don't tell em all the truth,
G D
Yeah don't tell em all the truth,

Same as intro

I still need you,
Yeah that's the truth,
I still love you,
Baby that's the truth.

The key is A on the version I found, but going with your choice of G (capo on 2 for original key of course):

The last chord of the verse and first chord of the chorus are both Cadd9. But in the previous line there's an Em between the two D chords, not Cadd9 (on the words "west coast").

At the end of the chorus the right chords are:

Code:
|Em / D / |C / Bm7 / |
|...want to, just don't tell em all the |truth, yeah don't tell em all the |

|Am   /   /   /  |Dadd9  /   /   /  ||
truth
