Default Original: Sunday's Comfort, in DADGAD

Hi folks......it's Sunday so here ya go!.........

A slower paced piece done in DADGAD no capo which was intended to bring out the huge tone and natural reverb in my Doerr Legacy guitar. A little more of the narrative on how it came together is included in the Soundcloud posting by clicking on the icon.

From the '17 Cd Autumn's Soul.
Thanks for listening!
Fred

Hi Fred,

Lovely piece! I really like the tone you get from that guitar and DADGAD always seems to allow magic things. For some reason the song seems just right for this morning!

Thanks for this Fred!

Thanks so much, Glenn! So glad this seemed to fit with your Sunday out there!

As sometimes happens with my recording, this take happened as I was taking a break from recording another song and just decided to "wing it" as a diversion and it turned out well. You never know!!

Kind of a pre-spring morning here.....the kind where you can sense that things will soon change over.....but not quite yet!!

Was literally listening to this on the drive to my brunch gig this morning. That tune, Midnight Melody and Winter’s Light might be my favorites but they’re all just great.

Haunting and beautiful - I love the way you allow space around each note, nothing rushed. It really does show off the guitar’s qualities, but also just makes it lovely to listen to. Great stuff, Fred!

Larry, thank you so much! So pleased that the spacing of notes held you....was worried that it might be a bit too much and cause a listener to lose the sense of the piece. So appreciate your taking time for a listen......"haunting and beautiful"....... very special that this is what came through to you with this one!
Enjoy your day!
Fred

Yes, that was excellent. What a sound from that Doerr (obviously enhanced by your playing for sure). There have been discussions on whether acoustics have reverb, this should take care of that debate! Well done.

Thats what I think every time I hear it. If someone asked me "why do people describe good guitars as 'piano-like'?" I'd show them these recordings. So much resonance!

Thank you Tom! I'm really glad you enjoyed this one! From your build with Ben, I have a feeling that your new guitar will be "reverbing" quite competitively with the Doerr very soon!
Ray Kohn here on the forum tells me that both Tom and Ben met at a show and have a very good connection/friendship.
Thanks again,
Fred

Thank you Dustin and Barry! Yes, the Tom Doerr Legacy is a keeper for sure. What's not realized, however, is what a blast it was to have Tom right there with me for those 4 months and those months leading up to the actual build. The experience is something I'll savor for all time. Very special.
Thanks again, guys!!
Fred

Sounds good though I might record a bit farther out from the guitar (some proximity effects). Thanks for sharing.
