New Custom Pick Day
Received my new custom picks from Steve Clayton today. They are standard 351 size 1.26mm celluloid. I had previously gotten the same imprint graphics on some acetal 346 size picks. Lately, I seem to favor the 351 size so I ordered a run.
These are printed on a white pearl base that seems to let the colors show more vividly. I use these but always keep some with me to give away as mementos to people I meet or play with. They may forget me, but they remember my picks. They sound good and play well. I may try speed beveling some this evening to see what that might do for them. Photo is of the new picks with one of the originals in the foreground. |

Yep, last name is Price, apparently derived from Ap Rhys in Welsh.

Coincidentally, I ordered some "Gravity" picks to be shipped from the US today. http://gravitypicks.com/
I'm not ready to commit to Blue Chips yet, but these look nice, anyone here try them ? $5 a pick, still makes 'em the most expensive I've ever bought. |

As an addendum, I did re-bevel several of these picks and the results were great. Increased volume and clarity significantly. They have a very pleasing smooth sound, no harshness.
These are very low cost without the imprint, good choice in a 1.26mm pick. |

The picks look great, HHP. Very crisp and clear image. I had custom Clayton picks a few years ago and I would hand them out at gigs to some people. It does make a good impression on people.
What's the meaning behind the image? |

It's the flag of Wales. My ancestry is Scottish-Welsh. The Scottish imagery tied to the family wasn't very interesting, it was basically a belt. The dragon was a bit more graphic so I went with my father's side of the family. Little more representative of British Isles culture than a big belt.
