Default Dating an Eastman Guitar?

Does anyone know how to date an Eastman by the serial numbers? I have two models. I can determine the age of my AJ617SB, because I believe I special ordered it in 2009, and took delivery of it in 2010, or maybe it was 2010, and received in 2011? It's serial number is 1103 - 10114, or 10117? I can't quite read the handwriting on the label?

About five years ago, I bought a used Eastman D20 here, in the classified section. It is #12645. I wonder what those numbers mean? Does each model Eastman makes have its own numbers? Any help with the dating mystery would be appreciated....

Don, not that it’s my business, but if dating is your priority, you really might want to consider a human to date.

My Eastman, purchased in March of 2016, with most likely a 2015 build date, is SN# 10645218.

It was a custom/limited run so that might explain the difference in #'s, I have no idea.

Ted at LA Guitars is a very good Eastman resource. Ask him.

Seems like for all the love of Eastman guitars on this board, someone would know how the serial numbers work for determining when they were built, and add their enlightenment on the matter? Can anyone (besides hopeful comedians) share their knowledge?

Don
I recently contacted Eastman to find out the manufacture date of a T386 model that I purchased serial# 11650145. I was told that it was from 2017. I then inquired if there was a way to decode the serial # to get the manufacture date and this was the response:

As of right now there is not a way to decode the serial number. We are currently importing the numbers within our system database to keep track of them.

Thank you,
Eastman Guitars
