Default Old Truetone guitar strings

I have an old Truetome (I think) guitar from the 30’s or 40’s. It’s a small body 12 fret. It plays well but doesn’t sound very good. What suggestions would you have for strings to get the best sound? Thanks

It is what it is.
A new bone saddle and nut may help but don't expect much to change.
These guitars have their own sound.
Accept it for what it is and enjoy it.
