Oh well, I'll put em on and order a set of mediums today anyway.

I think I'll also try some straight up strings.
Vindibona - I've noticed your endorsement for a while now and have been intrigued.
Certainly enjoying the string trial!

Dan
It may be important to note that medium TENSION are 12's. When we think "mediums" we usually assume 13-xx. This isn't the case with SC or SUS strings.

Mid tension on a OOO28 took this git to another sonic dimension. The sound is so dark. So mini jumbo-ish. I am in love!!!!!!!

Did you wrote the pieces that you play? I like your playing style a lot Shades.
Thanks for the kind words! I agree on the sound, and I have been off and on with this guitar since I bought it, but recently I discovered a wood shim in the guitar I received. After removal and a new saddle, this thing SLAYS.

I do play all original music. I always have. I don't have many full length songs, but rather these little 1-2 minutes noodles lol. But yes, all originals.

Well, yes and no. They are really more like a hybrid set, like John Pearse New Mediums.

Here are the specs straight from Santa Cruz:

Low tension:

GAUGE - TENSION in pounds

.012 - 20

.016 - 22.5

.023- 27.9

.032 – 30.5

.044—28

.056 – 27

Total tension – 156 lbs

Mid tension:

.013, .0165, .024, .033, .045, .056

GAUGE - TENSION in pounds

.013 - 22.5

.0165 - 24

.024 - 28.5

.033 - 28.5

.045 - 32.5

.056 – 27

163 – mid tension

I hope they don't mind me sharing, they freely sent me this info.

Because the sound came from just an iPhone recording then it is a superbly sounding instrument. As for your music, we are in the same exact boat. Too many smaller parts waiting to be expanded or combined here also. And by trying that my frustration grows bigger. The story of my life...

You, your guitar, your choice of strings and your pick all work very well together.
Sounds great!
Well done.

I've looked all over for SC's specs and can't find them. Do you have a link?

Also, would love to hear your sound track but couldn't find the thread you posted it on. Link for that too, please?
