Great story.
That guitar is more than a guitar it's a connection.

Funny you would say that..My mother in law has a lot of stories to tell.. grandpa was a traveler, socializer and entertainer. He was a modern day hobo traveling and living all over these United States and most of the time worked and earned his keep where ever he lit down as a younger man. He spent the last several years of his life living in an RV and traveling from park to park in whatever state suited him. When I hold this old beat up guitar I can’t help but think “My, my if only you could talk and what stories would you tell?” So yeah I do feel a connection..

I love family heirloom guitars and that one is a beauty. Take it out and play it in good health and soak up the vibes. My gigging partner has his grandmother's old Hohner acoustic and takes it out occasionally. My J-45 was my Dad's first real guitar he got in high school. I hope all of the memories in that guitar flood out with every strum.

Good for you on a nice hand me down. I once received my Great Grandfathers "eye spectacles" and put them on wishing I could see all that he had seen through them. I wish my Great Grandfather played the guitar.

This is one of the reasons I like to frequent this forum, great stories about wonderful guitars.
Enjoy it for a long time.
