A number of stand alone harmonizers have built in pitch correction. Takes care of the issue, and we now know a number of big time signers rely on it.

Wow, this looks great. Seems they're not widely available yet, though, especially the 60-watt version.

Me too. We used to save up to buy their pedals when I was younger. I used to lust after their chromatic tuner when it came out. :-). Actually, I've been thinking of testing one of these Boss acoustic amps.

That video had nasty piezo quack. I couldn't use it without a body rez stage
Srsly..I don't like the sound coming out of that amp, but he had a lousy piezo in his git box. |

I didn't like the acoustic sound. Too processed for my tastes. I want to know how natural it can sound. Too many effects ruins the sweetness of a great sounding acoustic guitar.

Agreed. The video was not a great example of natural tone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My VE-8 has pitch correction on the voice. It also has a feature which can set the harmonies to follow your voice intonation if you go a little flat or sharp, keep the harmonies on concert pitches, or do some compromise in between. |

With the VE-8, I have mixed feelings about the body resonance effect. It can add a little magic at low volumes, but the artificial resonances will make your guitar ring if you are turned up at all.
It has several models to choose from and you can edit the highs of the modeling and blend it in. Unfortunately, as soon as you blend a tiny amount of it in, you can hear the direct sign switch over to some sort of digital copy. Lately I've hardly been using it. I like the reverbs and delays. I never use chorus so I can't comment on that. The EQ controls have high pass controls and settings for frequency and Q at several intervals. It sounds like digital EQ. In my opinion, no worse than other digital boxes for EQ. |

New BOSS Acoustic Amp Looks Like a Winner!
I know that on the VE-8 you can do two harmony voices whereas on the amp version you can only do one. I prefer just one generated harmony voice though. With two it starts to sound like a vocoder (IMHO with all of them, not just the Boss version).

Anyone actually using this now? It’s very intriguing. If you’ve gigged with one, your response would help tremendously.
