Washington DC Area AGF+ Gathering
Time to host another AGF gathering and jam. Been at least a couple of years. Going to be the afternoon of Sunday, June 29. 12-6. Assuming good weather, plenty of room for multiple circles. Big room in the house, small deck, patio, and big back yard. Meet, play or not, eat, drink, see new instruments, etc. In the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area just outside of DC and inside the beltway. Not far from Baltimore. If you are free that day, come by and join in. For details, send me an email.

So far we have 11 confirmed and 13 to get back to me. Should be great. Four so far play mando. A couple of fiddlers and banjo players are checking schedules. Anybody else going to be around? just hoping the weather is good so there can be some playing outside.

Its Sunday morning and the count is 16 confirmed and 11 still on the fence. A super group here. Along with all the guitar players, there will be at least 4 in the group who play mando and one who plays banjo. Two fiddle players among those on the fence. Have room for a lot more. Right now, it looks like we are only a little short on guitar stands. Should mention we have cats and if anyone has cat allergies, remember to take precautions. Any others out there? Send me an email or a PM.

Warrenton isn't that far. Next time I'll see if we can do a day you can make it. Its been too long. Late this summer when the Oxwood Roadshow guitar finds its way here? Still at 16 confirmed but up from 11 to 14 on the fence. Forecast for Sunday is 80s. Not too hot - at least early in the afternoon and later in the day. jeff

Just to an update on Sunday. Current count is 17 confirmed and 14 not sure. Can handle that many and a few more. One member coming down from Pennsylvania. Plenty of folks here on the Forum closer than that. Love to see you even for a little while.

Thursday update. We have nineteen confirmed and 9 yet to say for sure. We now have 2 fiddles, a banjo and at least 4 mandos along with the guitars. Pretty many who can sing as well. No doubt there will be special instruments to try. Menu is set and the weather forecast is low 80s and no rain. Great group too. I think there are only 3 or 4 at most who I haven't met before. Still have room - especially given the good weather.

Its Saturday and we will be getting it all started by this time tomorrow. We have 21 so far. The house is set and ready to go. Just need to clean the grill and put new strings on the guitars. Still have room if anyone else is thinking about coming.

Hi Jeff,
That was a great guitogether. I missed the other room, but man, the Santa Cruz and Bourgoise guitars in the one room were excellent. Those Ryan guitars are in a world of there own! Gypsy guitars are not my cup of tea, but whoa Nelly, that one was outstanding. And Allen's D 18 GE probably blew some shingles of your roof, you should check them in the morning. i was also happy to here some really good pickers play my guitars, they sound pretty good when someone else is playing them.
