What's the saddle spacing? Can you elaborate on the fret wear - the pic on Reverb isn't clear, but it looks like it's probably ready for a dress and level?

Saddle spacing is 2 1/4". The frets have light wear on the first three frets only. Could possibly use a good dressing. I did not even notice any fret wear until taking photos for the ad. It plays just fine.

Back to the top for this nice Rockbridge.

This one is #121, built fairly early in the history of the partnership between Brian Calhoun and Randall Ray. It was this model that helped them develop their reputation among bluegrass players here in Virginia.

Ten years later, Rockbridge guitars are played by artists such as Dave Matthews, Warren Haynes, Richie Sambora and Keith Urban.

The current base price for commissioning a build is $5,100, with a $450 up-charge for the red spruce top. Add $135 for the K&K, installed. And there is a sizable and growing waiting list for these guitars.

This is a good deal on a guitar. Finding an earlier model without the personalized inlay is a rarity. I have #328. They're amazing guitars. Best of luck with the sale. If I were in the market to buy another guitar, this one would already be at my house.

Thanks, Dave! The Rockbridge is still available.

If your 2013 slope is #328, that means that only 207 Rockbridge guitars were made in the seven years between the building of my 2007 #121 and your guitar. That averages out to about 30 guitars per year. That is how few of these are out there.

Thanks, Bronzeback!

Glad you are enjoying the F-50. It was a hard one to let go of, as is this Rockbridge. But I am no spring chicken, and I have too many nice guitars that just sit in their case.

The Rockbridge has a similar tone to my Huss & Dalton Crossroads DS, but is not quite as dry and fundamental. It has a bit more "ring" to it and is a bit better balanced.

The Huss is a better fit for what I do (solo singer-songwriter performance), as it has more bottom end to carry a strong bass line when I am playing all by myself.

The Rockbridge is a great strummer and bluegrass flat-picker, similar in build and tone to a D-18, but with a slightly shorter scale (25"). It has significantly longer sustain than the H&D.

Yes. I believe Adam started working with Randall and Brian close to the time that I put my order in(spring 2012). Now, with the fourth person, I believe that they are probably in the 50 to 60 per year range.

Well, the Rockbridge is still around, nestled comfortably in its case at 45% RH.

I am really in no hurry to sell, but would be open to offers, including trades (especially for a 00 or 000, with a 1 3/4" nut width). Just saying...
