Correct the Standard Nut is 44mm on a Brook, I bought my Taw after testing it in the shop. I felt OK so I never even bothered checking the Nut width I assumed it was 1 3/4". I don't think it is a big deal, to be honest, you get used to it. However, once you get it in your head that you need a 1 3/4" then it can become irritating, and if you are having a bad day at the guitar it is very easy to start blaming the stuff like the Nut.
