I use and love Reaper. Were I to buy a board to mate with it, I'd do the Presonus StudioLive AR16 USB...

As KevWind asks, is this just for recording, or do you also want to use the board for live use?
the one thing I couldn't find in any of the online blurbs is if this Soundcraft mixer has 24 bit or just 16 bit A/D converters.

Picking an input device for recording usually revolves around the following parameters:
Maximum number of mic preamps needed (for example, if recording a drum kit, you might want 4 up to a dozen mics).
What are you recording?
Sometimes monitoring via a mixer doesn't give you the best options, but the Soundcraft mixer probably has that covered.

As for Reaper, I've been using it for about 5 years now. I've yet to come across anything Reaper couldn't do as far as my recording and mixing goes. I read the massive user manual before diving in, just skipping the parts I wouldn't use immediately (MIDI implementation, which I use now, and advanced routing).
I found it very intuitive, much more so than Cakewalk (and gave up on), which I had tried about 8 years ago.

I would also research the quality of the drivers and future support if you want to use it for recording.
