Default Fender Acoustasonic 90 or Fishman Loudbox Mini?

Both can be had for about the same price. Which to buy? I don't know anything about amps.

It'll be for in-home use only.

Both seem like great choices.

Spec wise the Fender has more power, larger woofer and offers more tone controls and effects on both channels.

But they both get great reviews and I am sure both sound fantastic for home play.

If I had to choose for home use and you mentioned not knowing much about amps..
Then I'd go for the Fishman.

The Loudbox seems to be a favorite around the forums.

Can you play them both before buying?

Default Fishman Loudmouth or Acoustasonic

I recently picked up an older Acoustasonic 30 and am very pleased with it. Not much volume but it has warm bass and useful effects(roto, delay, chorus and reverb) that can be individually set for the guitar and the mic channels. My friend has the 90 version and they are close in size. My 30 is a wedge "kickback" type which I really like except for the weight is "hefty" for its size.

Another friend has a Loudmouth and it lives up to its name, but is weak on the bottom end and the controls are confusing, even for him after 6 years of use. I think it has reverb, but what else I'm not sure. We've spent much time before gigs trying to defeat the nasty feedback from mics plugged into it.

If you are just strumming and need volume, the Fishman should be fine, but if a soloist or play fingerstyle I'd suggest looking at the Acoustasonic.

If you're using it for vocals as well, the consensus seems to favor the Mini.
I own one and I like it for my guitar and vocals. That being said, the Fender product is also very good.

Oh, I think my friend's is the 100, not the mini. So, I can't speak for the Mini.

I've owned both. The Mini is still here and the Acoustasonic is down the road...

I've had such great results with Fishman. My Soloamp has done lot's of public gigs, I bought a Loudbox Mini as a practice amp/monitor. Fishman service is great.

I've not been as impressed with Fender acoustic amps (electric are a whole different issue).
