Default Humans and insects

Insects are very specialized creatures .
Humans , on the other hand , do best when they are not specialized and able to individually handle considerably diverse tasks .
Are humans becoming more and more like the insect ?

I would politely suggest that there is less difference than one might suppose.

I don't buy the analogy. Aren't our jobs specialized skills, I don't want a plumber doing surgery, or an IT tech building bridges.

We are capable of diverse tasks but most of us get paid for a primary "specialized skill"...........

Spot on!....

A BMW mechanic was finishing installing the cylinder head from the motor of a 540 xi when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop. The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?"

The cardiologist, walked over to where the mechanic was working.

The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I opened its heart, took the valves out, repaired or replaced anything damaged, and then put everything back in, and when I finished, it works just like new. So how is it that I make $48,000 a year and you make $1.7 million when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The cardiologist paused, leaned over and whispered to the mechanic, "Try doing it with the engine running."

Individual members of social insects species such as most ants and bees (among others) are specialists. Non-social insect species are more diverse falling along a spectrum of non-specialized (ex.cockroach) to specialized (ex.tarantula hawk). As such homo sapiens are like insects in possessing a diverse range of specialization.

Regardless, insects will continue to evolve, prosper, multiply, and outlive us all. It's not a fair fight considering how destructive humans are, both to themselves, and their environment.
Insects will eventually inherit the earth. It's not even close.

Bingo !
The exact inspiration for this thread .
From what I am observing , we are becoming less human and more specialized every day .

I think you have a poorly thought out theorem, probably negatively reenforced by internal stimulation, from watching certain people, or events, which you don't approve of?

Since you asked, until insects start rolling up newspapers, and swatting humans into grease spots on the wall, your comparison of bugs vs. people holds no validity, far as I can see? YMMV.....
