Default AUTUMN'S SOUL

Hi Folks,

Well, I've just completed another home recorded CD project of 17 original songs from 2015-17, so two years in the works. This is a friends/family type effort, so nothing commercial. The title is Autumn's Soul and this of course is the title song. Some of you may have heard it before, but I've reposted this professionally mixed/mastered version.

What I really wanted to do in posting today is give a shout to Matty at: www.mixandmastermysong.com for his work on this CD.
He's in L.A. and is a wonderful guy to work with for any project you might have. 15 years of engineering experience with some major clients, but is really tuned in to individual local artists and bands. Incredibly responsive........lightning fast service and very reasonable rates. Also, there are some great videos he's posted on his web site for recording/mixing which might help some folks.

Hope you enjoy Autumn's Soul. As I say in the Soundcloud posting, I'm certainly happy this song "found me"!

That was simply wonderful IG (Fred). Very evocative song and playing, and a nice sound as well. Wish I had a professional service (that I could afford) like the one you used to help me with some recordings. Mine sound crappy which is why I don't bother recording anymore.

I'm glad that song found you too!

THANK YOU, Nailpicker! I have done a couple of these CD's....each one inching ahead with a little more knowledge. My "regular" guy locally went MIA on me (still don't know what happened...I do hope he's ok), and I had to research a bunch and found Matty. Kept coming back to his site. Some chats in his chat room and a great phone call and off we went. High focus and some great equipment/knowledge.....and totally responsive sometimes with 3 or more emails in a day in confirming or working through answers to questions.
If you do begin with recording again....even with one song, Matty would be a fun choice.
Anyway....greatly appreciate your taking a listen and your message back!
Fred

Nice job Fred and it sounds good. Might be interesting for the Record part of the forum people to post a before and after mastering there of the tune.

Hi Fred,

Wow, that sounded so good! Very nice Fred! I can't remember if I have heard this piece before, but either way, it sounded wonderful on this listen. Very thoughtful, and it sounds just like the coming of autumn, or perhaps, Autumn's Soul!

Your wife is really very inventive with these names, as if she really connects up to the spirit behind these pieces. I know that you know that you are lucky to have her around!

Very reflective and hauntingly beautiful. I love how you leave space between notes which allows the listener to enjoy the moment. The accompaniment of the flute is just perfect.

Thanks so much Derek! You are certainly one of my AGF models with your outstanding playing, knowledge and compositions......so your compliment means a lot. Good thought on before/after post!
Thanks again,
Fred

Thanks so much, Glenn! I really appreciate your responding to the post and taking a listen. Yes, it's nice to know that a piece will have some kind of foundation with a creative name as it's coming together.....think I'll keep her around! She's got a birthday tomorrow so I'm on the hook for brunch or something special......!!!!
Thanks again!
Fred

Basalt.....thanks for taking time to listen!!! Glad you enjoyed the phrasing with the spaces.....paying attention and listening to our own Mau (Joe Charter) has helped me work some of these out for my stuff.
Thanks again,
Fred
