Old "mini jumbo" Eastman models
I'm looking at a used eastman ac712. Based on the pics the guy sent me, it appears to be one of the old mini-jumbos. It appears to have a rounded bottom than I'd expect from an OM.
Anyone have any experience with these? I worry about getting an old Eastman, given my understanding that QC was spotty a while ago. I'm still a bit of a novice, so I'm not 100% sure in my ability to avoid a ripoff. But I'll consider rolling the dice if the thing might be great. I've also considered just getting an "E" series new. |

Isn't the AC712 an OM?
These are pretty good guitars and depending on the price, it might be a gem. Here's one on Reverb: https://reverb.com/item/20430-eastma...coustic-guitar

I had thought so myself. But I wasted way too much time googling the model number. The nut width and scale length changed over time. But apparently so did the shape:

The one pictured on reverb does appear to have a different shape than a traditional OM.

Early Eastman guitars have finsh issues.
But they sound just shy of amazing.
