Back for more advice
Right now, I'm playing a steel string ... But I'm playing a couple hours a day and my fingers are killing me. When I pick up my warped neck classical, they feel much better, but the guitar is old and little warped.
So, thinking about a classical crossover for Father's Day. I bought my son a Yamaha three-quarter size CS 40 for his birthday and it plays awesome but sounds a little small. I like the one and three-quarter nut fretboard but I'm not too happy about any nut over 2 inches wide (small hands with limited movement because of injury). I thought about about getting another entry yamaha His, but I'd like a little more sound. What you guys recommend in classical guitar or classical crossover with a less than 2 inch nut on an entry-level price so I can see if I like this. I would like to stay under $200 if possible. I know that's a hard task but I looked at a Córdoba and Giannini (gif-8r CE) and yamaha and all could be had for less than 200 bucks. My main interest is nylon strings and nut slightly smaller than the 2 inches. thanks Jed |

I had a Cordoba Cadete, which I passed along, because it was too loud. It didn't lack in tone, was quite impressive, just too much for me.

I'm not sure if you can get a Cordoba classical guitar for under $200. I'd stay away from the C5 model. My thoughts are that they don't sound great.
Look for a used GK Studio. 1.96 width at the nut and a thinner neck.

Yeah, after researching I have found its going to be hard to get one for less than $200, but on the overhand, this is just a trial run .... |

I had a Cort that would meet your needs perfectly. Model cec-5 nat. Body was thinner than the norm but it sounded great plugged in. It inspired me to go nylon, and I upgraded to a Yamaha NTX 1200 R, a pro quality nylon crossover.
