Taylor GS mini at the beach
We are taking a week long trip to stay at a beach house.
Whats the opinion of a GS mini around all that salt air and water? I hate to risk it, but I need something to play. I don't have a composite guitar unfortunately. |

Any guitar at the beach is a risk. I live in Florida. I am inland, but when I have gone to stay or perform at the beach, I take extra care. Keep it in its case as much as possible.

I would do it, and I have with no problems. I've also had better guitars than my mini at condos or hotels on the beach, even outside on a patio or balcony as well w/ no problems; but always have been far enough away from the thick of the ocean mist.

Shouldn't be a problem for a week. Long term exposure is another thing all together. Take it and enjoy it!

Take it, enjoy it, put it in the case when you aren't playing it.

Plus one! Go ahead and enjoy it, it's what it was made for.

I agree; go for it. I got my gs mini for those exact situations. Also, since the sides are laminate, it should be more weather resistant than a solid back and side guitar.

I'm agree with those saying go ahead and enjoy that Mini at the beach. Do try to protect it from direct, hot sun and any salt spray coming from the waves, but even that can be easily cleaned off at the end of the day. Because wood absorbs and loses moisture rather slowly, I wouldn't worry about the relative humidity at the beach for a few days. I'd be more concerned to keep that Mini in the shade when you can, and in the case when it's not in your hands.

Play it and have fun. Build memories. Don't worry.

This is what the GS Mini is for--a travel guitar!
If you're worried about salt spray, just wipe it down before you put it away. It'll give it some character |

It could depend on your accommodations. I spent Memorial Day weekend at an air-conditioned beach house in Florida and took my Martin. Played each day for a while on the shaded, screened-in back porch, and each night after sunset on the beach. Kept is cased for the most part if I wasn't playing it.
I spent last week camping in an RV off the Georgia coast at Tybee Island and opted for my inexpensive Alvarez travel guitar. The RV is air-conditioned and the Martin would have probably been fine, but it was a load off my mind not to worry about it being damaged or stolen. |

I've got one...and it's been everywhere....beach, mountains, city...just do it.

This is what it's made for. Mine travels all over the country and around the Caribbean with me. I even loaned it to my 14 year old grand niece for six months here in Florida.
Go for it.

I have a Mini that has traveled pretty extensively with me by boat. Our home is on the Gulf (although we have good humidity control in the house). Yours will handle a few weeks at the beach just fine. If you are exposed to salt and sand from sea breezes, be sure to wipe it down before you put it away for the night... the varnish finish with thank you.
One of the pluses of laminated construction, and Taylor does a fine job with that. Enjoy! |

That's what the GS Mini is made for .... not to mention half the GSM ads are in So Cal beaches:-). GSMs are very durable, and the motto should be just play it, don't worry.
