Default AGF Showcase of Talent for March 2015: Celtic/Irish/Drinking songs

Okay everyone, time for the SOT for March! Given that St. Patrick's Day is coming up, we'll do songs related to Irish or Celtic music, or anything that FOCUSES on drinking alcohol. This isn't for songs that just mention alcohol in passing. Also, as long as it is an Irish/Scottish singer or group, that works too. Though, if it's an American song done by an Irish group...l well, I'm sure you can find an actual Celtic/Irish song to do.

These can be originals or covers and can be played in any way you like. Instrumental or with singing, fingerstyle, flat pick, etc. is all fine. Just make sure the song features acoustic guitar and you have to be the one playing. Accompaniment is okay, but it must FEATURE the acoustic guitar.

As always, this is not a competition. We will draw a name from the end from all SOT to claim the prize.

Todd

I recorded this with this thread in mind. I was told it's Scottish now, so please pretend it's Irish?

That was lovely, Daria! Is that guitar a Yamaha LS16?

Dear Daria, that was phantastic!!! Love that tune!

I did kind of a celtic classic some years ago.
Star of the county down in a instrumental version, heavily inspired by Franco Morone.

Default Bottle of Wine (cover)

Tom Paxton had a big folk hit in 1967. Here is my rendition of his classic "Bottle of Wine"

Default March of the Irish fighter

I wrote this tune for the Irish Fighter, Conor McGregor. I've since rewrote the lyrics and am using the tune on my new album.
Happy St Pats everyone!

That was great! I'm a big Great Big Sea fan and I have a few of their CDs. The Night Pat Murphy Died is one of those fun party tunes that really gets people going.
