Default David Webber OM Macassar Ebony

I am new to the acoustic guitar forum and actually decided to join after doing some research on David Webber guitars. I am primarily a jazz guitarist hobbyist but like good gear. In any event I was in a big box guitar store that starts with a G and saw this beautiful used David Webber and played it...magical to say the least. I have played Collings, Froggy Bottom, Lowdens and various great boutique guitars. This guitar was insane and after 3 days of going back to G store I picked it up.

I am guessing most people here are lovers of the guitar. Curioous to know other than the GAS that we get from trying gear we dont want ... did you ever try something that you knew if you didnt get you would not feel whole or complete? Seriously I kept thinking of this guitar so much that if Freud was around I would be in therapy.

Anywyay I didnt need another guitar but had to have this! Below is a clip of me playing my new Webber...saddest thing is I have to wait 30 days to actually bring it home.

It's great that you fond an instrument that called so loudly to you. Not everyone gets to have that and it's a wonderful when it happens. .

Larrivee L-30 Nylon. Played it. Was blown away. Went home and dreamt about it that night. Told my wife the next day, and she said "Yes". Second best "Yes" I have ever received from her.

BTW, I have had a Webber OM Cedar/RW since 1998, and it is stellar.

My Carpathian/Macassar Beneteau did that for me. Macassar has such a lovely, mellow tone with great fundamentals. Congrats on your Webber, and great playing. Very good match!

Welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Forum and congratulations on your new guitar. It's a beauty!

I went to the Webber Guitars' factory, a few years ago, and David brought a whole bunch of guitars into his office and put them all in a row (see picture). I spent the next hour, or so, playing them. Very nice guitars.

Yeah. So. What's your point?

Isn't this what we hope will happen?

BTW, kinda cool that you gradually slowed down the tempo. Like guitar appreciation was happening.

Not your ordinary welcome, from this guy above. Anyway, welcome? Beautiful guitar in looks and sound. Congratulations on the unexpected find.

As for me, with respect to your thread topic, the search continues!

Wow those Webber guitars look great. So which models did you like the best when you played them?
