Looks Awesome David! I think that Madi is really really special, and I've played a few guitars with Lutz that were spectacular.

This should be a sweet guitar. I look forward to following along. Thanks for sharing!!

Saves the thumbs too!

Both the 1975 and 2018 guitars are beautiful, but I think there's something very aesthetically pleasing with that 2018 guitar! Very unique in style and execution...

I love threads like this. I love the looks of that old steel string guitar too. It has a classical look to it for sure. 1975, wow. Would love to play that guitar.

Hey Michael ... I agree ... this is one great set of Madagascar rosewood! I'm going to enjoy using the last few sets of this stuff that I've had for 15 years or so (won't be ordering more, rather going for something a bit more sustainable). This batch of Lutz is some of the best top wood I've had in my career too!

Thanks Louie ... it was commissioned as an "Art piece" type of thing, but I had fun just letting go and not over-thinking the design!

Yes, those original Larrivee steel strings were VERY classically influenced from a visual standpoint. When I started with Jean, we were still even making our own rosette mosaic, in the time-honoured tradition of Spanish and German luthiers!
