The biggest announcement will be about Taylor's V-class or V-bracing being introduced. I've seen embargoed material (but am not bound by it), so that will be the biggie. Clearly they're excited about it.

I think that the Taylor Presentation series will be replaced by the Andy Powers series. This would represent the first time that an individual's name other than Taylor will appear on the inner label of a Taylor guitar. The AP series could very well have some manner of unique bracing, fancy inlay and of course, top of the line woods. Remember, you heard it here first....

We'll all find out in a few days. In the meantime, I will keep playing the guitars I already have.

Taylor is certainly the master of building "buzz". They show beautiful photos of a new model in the quarterly Wood & Steel magazine, building anticipation, while knowing full well that the pipeline is empty and dealers won't see these for months.

Maybe no more ES2 with three holes through the bridge, problematic pre-amp boards, etc??

Actually, it's going to be the ultimate Disney/Pixar marketing tie-in: Taylor is going to build a guitar that, when strummed, takes you the land of the dead, where you get to hang out with all your ancestors.

Agree to disagree there. All of my Taylors have the NT neck, which is a benefit (and as an engineer and amateur woodworker, pretty cool technology).

Where they really should have quit was putting ES-x in every guitar. Stick to what you know best -- acoustic guitars. I know you can special order without a pickup. But buying sight-unseen scare me, as wood is so variable even if the manufacturing QC isn't.

So Andy got an idea to remove half of the Martin X bracing to engineer a V brace?

I think that this is closest to the truth; I was originally thinking that Andy Powers was going to be 'officially' named as Taylor's new head (with his name on the inner labels), and Bob taking a back seat...

Not speaking in regard to structural benefits (never had trouble with any one piece neck EVER though) but to tonal tendencies and lightness of build.

Bob will be running for office and intends to announce his candidacy?

Andy will star in the next two installments of the Batman franchise?

Intending no disrespect to either gentleman or their guitars, I am not on the edge of my chair. The marketing announcement of a forthcoming marketing announcement . . . we'll see what they say when they say it.

AMEN to this^^^!!!

I really loved the 1996 to 1999 Taylor guitars...even up to 2004/2005...but the late 90's instruments were really wonderful...so were the Martin guitars of that same time IMO
